Dev Bhoomi, India

Journey to the highest mountains in the world, land of the Gods, Sages and Yoga- Dev Bhoomi.

10/2/27-10/14/27 with optional Taj Mahal Extension 9/30-10/2

Join me with my dear friends Dinesh and Bristol in 2027 for 12 days of immersion in Yogic culture, Himalayan Majesty and fun with new friends and old. For thousands of years yogis have gone on retreat to escape the roles and responsibilities of their lives at home so they may once again remember who they truly are.

A yoga retreat to Dev Bhoomi offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the profound spiritual landscape of northern India. Visiting Gangotri, the revered origin of the Ganges River, allows individuals to connect deeply with nature and the divine, surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine waters. Continuing the journey to Rishikesh, known as the "Yoga Capital of the World," participants can engage in daily asana practice, meditation, and mindfulness, all while soaking in the serene atmosphere along the banks of the Ganges. Exploring the sacred Shakti Peeths enhances this transformative experience, as these powerful sites inspire devotion and healing, fostering a sense of connection to the divine feminine. This retreat not only nurtures the body through yoga but also nourishes the spirit through rich cultural and spiritual experiences.

Dinesh says: “Journey with us through the divine land of Uttarakhand Himalayas India, which is home to Lord Shiva, Vishnu, holy river Ganga and Goddesses Parvati. The sublime energy that one can feel here comes from many great saints and sages choosing this place to meditate. On this retreat you will connect your mind, body and soul by doing yoga, and mediation with mother nature in spiritual places. Apart from yoga and meditation one will experience ancient temple and religious places such as Vishwanath temple at Uttrakashi, Goddess Gangas temple at Gangotri, Origin of Mother, Shakti Peeth temples, sacred caves and auspicious sites of famed stories.”

Planning your pilrimage to Dev Bhoomi:
When considering a journey to the Dev Bhoomi, the high himalayas and the sacred Ganges, it’s essential to plan ahead. This journey can include trekking to the very source of the river, located high in the Himalayas at a stunning glacier. This trek demands physical preparation and training; the altitude and terrain can challenge even experienced hikers. If you choose this path, prepare your body with conditioning exercises, endurance training, and attend yoga to build strength and flexibility.

On this trek, you will be surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, with each step deepening your connection to this sacred land. The experience of reaching the glacier—the birthplace of the Ganges—is profoundly spiritual. It offers a unique opportunity for reflection, meditative practice, and a chance to honor the river's significance in cultural and spiritual contexts.

Alternatively, for those who prefer a more leisurely experience, resting at our comfortable hotel provides a different way to connect with the area. From this base, you can partake in local rituals, visit nearby temples, and engage in mindful practices at a more relaxed pace. This option allows you to absorb the essence of the Ganges without the physical demands of trekking while still nurturing your spirit.

Whether you choose to embark on the trek or rest in the hotel, planning ahead is vital for an enriching experience. Each option offers a unique way to engage with the spiritual landscape of the Ganges and can lead to profound personal growth.
